I Want To Start A Home Business. Now What?

A lot of people have at some point toyed with the idea of setting up a home business. You've probably already done some preliminary research and maybe you've even come up with a few ideas. You know you're ready to take the plunge, or maybe out of three or four possibilities, you can't quite decide whether its the baby-sitting idea or the cake-decorating business. You might even have considered something *way out there* like writing an e-book on how to build race cars.

As frustrating as this seems, you're probably on the right track. Before you jump into your new home business, it's really important to pause and ask yourself a few pertinent questions:
  • What are you good at?

  • What do you enjoy doing?
After you've answered these questions, the next logical ones are:
  • Could you make money doing this?
  • What materials do you need to get started?

  • How much money will you need to get started?

  • How much time do you have to devote to a home-based business and still work a part-time or full-time job?
By the time you've worked your way through most of these questions, you'll soon find some very clear possibilities emerging as the less practical ideas begin to fall by the wayside. By now you might even know exactly what home business you'd like to build. If not, don't lose heart, you're almost there. Visit us at the Entrepreneur's Home-Business Resource Center, where we'll be looking into some specific home-business ideas. See you there!
